Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Calixto Cardona (ranked 594 p4p, 70 weight class) and Dwayne King (ranked 1569 p4p, 167 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Calixto Cardona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dwayne King!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardona on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
King avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
King throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cardona stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cardona throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
King throws out a counter right but Cardona avoids it with no problem.
Cardona has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cardona fails in his attempt to clinch.
King has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Dwayne King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King lands a nice looking body kick.
Cardona uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by King.
King looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Cardona appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
A head kick from King lands but Cardona takes it in his stride.

King takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A nice leg kick lands there from King.
King lands a head kick. Cardona smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
King clobbers Cardona with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
King lands a leg kick that knocks Cardona off balance momentarily.

King looks to land a right hand but Cardona moved out of range.
King tries a low kick but Cardona avoids it.
King tries to land a front kick but Cardona steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from King. Cardona shrugs it off though.
Cardona lands a head kick!
It looks like Dwayne King has been cut.
King takes one on the button.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cardona crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from King - the referee stops the clock and Cardona gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says King. Cardona manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
King swings for the body but Cardona moves out of range.
King shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Cardona blocks a leg kick.
King fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
King with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cardona to score with a decent uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cardona wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

and King counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
King moves away from the strike by Cardona.
King moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Cardona slips under a jab.

Cardona looks to land a left hand but King moved out of range nicely.
King moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Cardona lands a jab.

Cardona connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
King moves out of range of the body kick.
And King tries to counter it with a takedown but Cardona pushes his down on his head and steps out.
King throws a nice inside leg kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from King.
King finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
King thows a leg kick but Cardona checks it
and Cardona counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Cardona counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
King cracks the inside of Cardona's front leg.
Cardona takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
King swings for the body but Cardona moves out of range.
King connects with a solid leg kick.

Cardona throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

King circles away from the clinch attempt
and King counters with a straight right hand.

letting King counter with a right hand.
Cardona is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cardona. King does a little dance to reset his feet.
King dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cardona. That did some damage!
King scores with a leg kick.
Cardona does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
King misses with a hook. Cardona ducked under it nicely.
King connects with a leg kick. Cardona looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
King avoids the head kick by Cardona.
A cross from Cardona lands.
Cardona keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cardona throws an uppercut from half a mile away. King sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Cardona takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Cardona takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
This has been an exciting period of action!
King lands a glancing blow to the side of Cardona's head.
King feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cardona's calf.

A head kick from King lands but Cardona takes it in his stride.
Cardona is rocked!
King drops Cardona with a big left hand! Cardona is injured, injured bad! King jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

In his post fight interview, Dwayne King started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
