Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Booningham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Donnie Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Booningham sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat.
Booningham misses with a straight left.
Jackson fails with the takedown
and Booningham counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Jackson slips a straight right by Booningham.
Booningham slaps away a takedown attempt from Jackson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Daniel Booningham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Jackson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson dives in and grabs Booningham's left leg, looking for a takedown. Booningham pushes down on Jackson's head and hops out.

Booningham throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jackson wants to counter the offense by Booningham and move into the clinch position.

Jackson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Booningham tries to avoid it but Jackson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Booningham to the ground. Booningham escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jackson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Booningham is trying to defend but Jackson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Booningham pushes Jackson off looking to stand but Jackson dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Booningham manages to escape and get back to his feet!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Booningham enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Booningham manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jackson won't allow Booningham to get back to his feet.

Booningham has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jackson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Booningham swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Booningham definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

and Booningham counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Booningham shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A little feinted left hand from Booningham on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Booningham moves out of range easily.

It looks like Donnie Jackson has been cut.

Booningham is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Horrible takedown attempt by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Booningham, which made it look bad.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Booningham counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Jackson out cold! What a finish! Booningham is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
