The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A thudding body kick lands there by Megalos!
Megalos dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Megalos uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nielsen.
Megalos fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nielsen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Megalos lands a leg kick that knocks Nielsen off balance momentarily.
Megalos digs a good body shot into Nielsen's ribs.
Nice uppercut lands for Nielsen. That snapped Megalos's head back.
Megalos ducks under a wild hook from Nielsen.
Megalos throws a push kick but Nielsen slaps the foot to one side.
Nielsen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Nielsen takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Megalos misses with a wild body shot.
Nielsen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Megalos.
Nielsen looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Nielsen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Nielsen misses with a looping left.
Megalos tries to land a body kick

and Nielsen counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Megalos!

Nielsen lands an elbow.
Nielsen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Nielsen scores with a couple of short elbows.
Nielsen cracks Megalos with a big right hand but Megalos just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Nielsen scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Megalos to see if he's OK.
Megalos tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nielsen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Megalos can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Nielsen unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Megalos wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Nielsen celebrates on the ropes and the crowd goes wild!
