Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Takeru Kazehaya (ranked 3642 p4p, 70 weight class) and Keiki Hale (ranked 5489 p4p, 109 weight class). Keiki Hale has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Takeru Kazehaya's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Takeru Kazehaya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Keiki Hale!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Kazehaya.
Hale slips under a jab from Kazehaya.
Hale tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Hale ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hale defending well as Kazehaya loads up on a big left hand.
Kazehaya catches Hale with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Kazehaya feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hales jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kazehaya jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hale misses with a straight right.
Kazehaya misses with an uppercut.

Kazehaya dives in and scores a takedown into Hale's guard.

Hale has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kazehaya can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kazehaya got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hale has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kazehaya has managed to get both his arms back between Hale's legs - danger averted.
Kazehaya trying to control the position from guard on top but Hale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hale working for a triangle but Kazehaya defends it easily.
Kazehaya tries to free his leg and advance position but Hale is retaining full guard.
Kazehaya definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hale escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kazehaya gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hale throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kazehaya uses it to pass to side control.
Kazehaya is looking to take a break and control but Hale is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hale tries to bench press Kazehaya off him but Kazehaya keeps the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kazehaya trying to control the action but Hale is working from the bottom.
Hale is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Kazehaya is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hale has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kazehaya goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hale has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kazehaya but great work by Hale.

Hale looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kazehaya tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You can see the frustration on Kazehaya's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hale has hold of Kazehaya's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kazehaya seems comfortable defending it but Hale has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kazehaya is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kazehaya is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hale couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Keiki Hale!
Our winner, Keiki Hale, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
