Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Jackson (ranked 3186 p4p, 402 weight class) and Shelton Gold (ranked 3972 p4p, 466 weight class). The key to victory for Jimmy Jackson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shelton Gold!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Jackson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gold doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jackson.

Jackson is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Spartans Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Gold to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gold manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jackson on his heels. He'll look to pass Jackson's guard now, I'm sure.

Shelton Gold has got the better of the ground game so far.

Gold misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson is trying to control Gold's posture but Gold avoids it.
Gold is putting a hurting on Jackson here, landing some big shots from side control.
Gold wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.

Gold looks up at the clock and then as Jackson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Gold smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Gold is nestled in close to Jackson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

and Jackson counters with a three punch combo that has Gold backing up. Gold nods at Jackson to acknowledge the strikes.
Jackson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gold on the side of the head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gold postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gold is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gold takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Gold will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jimmy Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shelton Gold.

Gold shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Gold keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

I would just about give that final round to Shelton Gold.
