Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pony Pony (ranked 1292 p4p, 173 weight class) and Eldar Tskhadaia (ranked 2560 p4p, 291 weight class). The key to victory for Pony Pony has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pony Pony!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eldar Tskhadaia!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Tskhadaia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pony pinned against the cage. Pony gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pony tries to counter by clinching up but Tskhadaia breaks away and moves out of range.
Tskhadaia tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pony sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tskhadaia somewhat.
Pony seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tskhadaia misses with a takedown attempt - Pony sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pony Pony has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eldar Tskhadaia.

Eldar Tskhadaia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tskhadaia shoots in and drives through. Pony sprawls well.
Tskhadaia dives in and grabs Pony's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pony pushes down on Tskhadaia's head and hops out.
Pony appears to be looking for a big counter.
Tskhadaia tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pony defends well and Tskhadaia ends up having to push Pony into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Pony went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Tskhadaia closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pony did well to prevent Tskhadaia getting side control.

Pony wants to improve his position but Tskhadaia is controlling well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tskhadaia thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tskhadaia throwing shots but Pony is blocking nicely.
Tskhadaia landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Tskhadaia missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Tskhadaia throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Tskhadaia looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pony with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Pony on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pony tries to get out of the position.

Pony trying to hold on to Tskhadaia's head to control him but Tskhadaia postures up.

Tskhadaia is trying to control the action in half guard but Pony is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Tskhadaia throwing shots but Pony is blocking nicely.
Tskhadaia slips a nice elbow through Pony's hands, connecting with Pony's forehead.
Tskhadaia not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Tskhadaia throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Pony to regain full guard.
Tskhadaia has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tskhadaia is looking to work some ground and pound but Pony has wrist control.
Tskhadaia throws an elbow that misses. Pony uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tskhadaia's guard. Nice move by Pony!

Pony won't allow Tskhadaia to sweep him here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tskhadaia wants to hit a switch here but Pony passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Tskhadaia there!
Tskhadaia is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pony Pony will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

and Pony counters with a crisp one two that drops Tskhadaia! Pony thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Tskhadaia to his feet! Tskhadaia is in big trouble!

and Pony counters with a nice right hand that sends Tskhadaia toppling to the canvas! Tskhadaia scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Pony finish him?!
