Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matsuda Taro (ranked 402 p4p, 19 weight class) and Kylar Sensei (ranked 532 p4p, 24 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matsuda Taro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kylar Sensei!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sensei jabs Taro to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Sensei works Taro's body with a nice hook.
Sensei has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Taro is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Sensei takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Taro lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Sensei fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Taro manages to avoid it.
Taro swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Sensei tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Taro swivels and escapes.
Sensei looks to score with a jab to the body but Taro is just out of range.
Sensei takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taro looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sensei loads up on a big right hand but Taro slips the punch.

Taro takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Sensei fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Taro seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Matsuda Taro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kylar Sensei.

Sensei shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sensei was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sensei tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sensei has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Taro is trying to control Sensei's posture but Sensei avoids it.
Sensei is trying to ground and pound but Taro uses the momentary lack of control by Sensei to regain half guard.

Sensei thows a huge punch but Taro dodges it nicely.

Sensei is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Taro sees it coming and defends easily.

Taro's coaches at Crassus have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Sensei working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sensei looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sensei is nestled in close to Taro, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Sensei wants to lay and pray for a moment but Taro keeps working.

Sensei is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Taro is just riding it out for now. Sensei eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sensei looking for a submission but Taro manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sensei accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Taro is pulling down on Sensei's head. It's preventing any offense from Sensei, at least for the moment.

That's time! Taro's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Sensei throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Taro stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

A decent looking cross lands there for Sensei.
Taro throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sensei.
Sensei blocks a head kick by Taro.
Sensei rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Taro moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Taro tried to counter with a leg kick but Sensei avoided it.
Sensei's corner calls for a 1-2. Sensei obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Sensei has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Sensei lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kylar Sensei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Sensei shoots for a double leg takedown but Taro sprawls well. He's pushed Sensei's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Taro lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Sensei head around and knocks him out cold! Taro hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Matsuda Taro!
In his post fight interview, Matsuda Taro started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
