Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between The Steel Penn (ranked 2725 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Pettis (ranked 3374 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, The Steel Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jeremy Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel Penn thuds his right hand into Pettis's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Pettis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Steel Penn misses with a jab, cross combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pettis! But no joy.
Steel Penn throws a lazy head kick
and Pettis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Steel Penn looks to land a left hand but Pettis moved out of range nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pettis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Steel Penn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pettis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steel Penn controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pettis has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Pettis leaves Steel Penn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The Steel Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round but I would say that The Steel Penn will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Pettis might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Steel Penn is trying to trip Pettis. He has hold of a leg but Pettis is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Steel Penn persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
