Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dusty Anthony (ranked 23588 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Alvarez (ranked 3303 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvarez looking to score a takedown here. Anthony is defending well but Alvarez drives through and ends up in Anthony's guard.

Anthony has his feet on Alvarez's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Anthony could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Alvarez misses with a combination

and Anthony moves into the clinch.
Anthony is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Alvarez can do to turn this around?

Anthony has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Alvarez finds it's way round the side to connect with Anthony's head.


It looks like Dusty Anthony has been cut.

Alvarez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Anthony's guard.

Anthony has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Alvarez off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Anthony has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Alvarez uses from the top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Alvarez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Anthony can't fight it off and eventually Alvarez manages to take the fight to the floor. Anthony looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As Alvarez tries to get set, Anthony tries to push him back and clinch up but Alvarez manages to avoid the attempt.

Anthony has one foot on Alvarez's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Anthony has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Alvarez has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Dusty Anthony is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Alvarez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Anthony is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Anthony has escaped and now he's on top!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Anthony, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
