Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rudy Mejia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bo Demmick!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Demmick lands but Mejia takes it in his stride.
Mejia shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Demmick as he avoids it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Mejia as Demmick shoots in.
Mejia appears to be looking for a big counter.
Demmick throws a leg kick which misses Mejia's front leg but catches the back leg as Mejia tries to avoid it.
Demmick throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mejia's head.
Mejia closes this distance looking for a takedown but Demmick circles away.
Mejia fails to land the takedown.
Demmick looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rudy Mejia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Demmick misses with a low kick as Mejia jumps back.
An inside leg kick lands from Demmick.
Demmick throws a leg kick which misses Mejia's front leg but catches the back leg as Mejia tries to avoid it.
Bo Demmick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Demmick slaps away a takedown attempt from Mejia, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mejia blocks a low kick nicely.
An attempted straight right counter from Mejia misses the target.
A nice leg kick lands there from Demmick.

Demmick displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mejia.

Demmick shoots in and bounces Mejia off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Mejia tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mejia really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mejia lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Demmick wants to stand but Mejia is controlling the position.

Mejia cracks Demmick with a solid left hand.
Demmick wants to stand up but Mejia is controlling him.
Mejia working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Demmick's head.
Mejia throws an elbow that misses. Demmick uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mejia's guard. Nice move by Demmick!

Mejia wants to sweep but no luck.
Mejia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mejia is on top in guard.


Mejia stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mejia closes the distance and clinches up with Demmick, looking for a takedown. Mejia pushes Demmick against the cage but Demmick circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Demmick plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Demmick scores with a head kick.
Demmick looks winded!
Mejia misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mejia checks a low kick from Demmick.
Demmick tried to score with a low kick but Mejia checks it.
Demmick connects with a leg kick. Mejia looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Demmick dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mejia. That did some damage!
Demmick misses with a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Demmick lands a leg kick that knocks Mejia off balance momentarily.
Demmick does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Demmick.

Demmick rushes Mejia and presses him up against the cage.
Demmick gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mejia.

Demmick breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mejia takes a kick to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bo Demmick dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Demmick closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've been informed that Demmick has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Demmick can't break the clinch.
Mejia drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Demmick gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Demmick tries to circle away but Mejia has him pinned against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Demmick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Demmick dives in and scores a takedown into Mejia's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mejia is on top in guard.

Mejia working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Demmick's head.
Demmick is breathing heavily.
Mejia is standing up over Demmick. Demmick looks to escape but Mejia dives into side control.

Mejia is trying to get an arm triangle but Demmick is defending well.

Mejia tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mejia has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mejia working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Demmick is trying to get back to his feet.
Mejia landing strikes.
An elbow from Mejia crashes against the mat.
Rudy Mejia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mejia looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Mejia is working Demmick over with some ground and pound from side control.
Demmick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mejia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Demmick wants to get back to his feet but Mejia drags him back down.
Mejia cracks Demmick with a big right hand but Demmick just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Mejia tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Mejia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mejia sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Demmick is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mejia is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Demmick has escaped the position, nice work there.

Mejia has an Americana. Demmick didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mejia is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mejia hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Rudy Mejia!
