Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Frank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Santiago Nasar!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Frank.
Frank tries to close the distance and clinch but Nasar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Frank digs a good body shot into Nasar's ribs.

Frank has closed the distance and engaged Nasar in a clinch.
Frank wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Frank tries to land knees in the clinch but Nasar avoids the damage to the body.

Frank pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Nasar closes the distance and pushes Frank back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frank lands with a light punch inside.

Nasar breaks the clinch.
Nasar goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Nasar has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nasar doesn't manage to clinch there - Frank circles away.
Frank tries to close the distance and clinch but Nasar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nasar is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Nasar fails to land the takedown.

Nasar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Frank is looking for a sweep. Nasar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nasar not doing much here.

Frank is defending against the submission attempts here by Nasar.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nasar winds up and cracks Frank with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Nasar stalling.
Frank is trying to get back to full guard.

Nasar is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Frank has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nasar is working away from the top position though.
Nasar is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nasar blocks the strikes from Frank.

Nasar wants to work for an arm triangle but Frank is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nasar landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Still in half guard, Nasar seems content to control.

Frank looking for submissions off his back.
Nasar has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Nasar quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Nasar but it's paid off an Frank is forced to tap! Nice work by Nasar.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Santiago Nasar!
After the fight, Santiago Nasar was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
