And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Reece Aston!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
VanZutphen shoots in for a takedown but Aston shows good takedown defense.
VanZutphen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

VanZutphen feints and as Aston raises his hands in defense, VanZutphen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

VanZutphen is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Aston is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Aston has escaped and now he's on top!

Aston stands up over VanZutphen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.


It looks like Helmut VanZutphen has been cut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aston wants to stand but VanZutphen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Aston has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of VanZutphen is proving hard to escape from.
Aston makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Aston postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Aston closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into VanZutphen's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



VanZutphen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Aston wants to stand and escape but instead VanZutphen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Aston shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. VanZutphen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Aston chips away with some ground and pound.


Jeez, Helmut VanZutphen's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Helmut VanZutphen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
