PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between King Diamond (ranked 4436 p4p, 457 weight class) and Pascual Perez (ranked 7466 p4p, 552 weight class). Perez has chosen Another One Bites The Dust as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, King Diamond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 33 - 1, fighting out of New York, Pascual Perez!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez scores with a one two! Diamond had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like King Diamond has been cut.

Despite the aggression on Perez's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Diamond is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Perez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Diamond is just riding it out for now. Perez eventually gives up the hold.

Perez is trying to control. Diamond wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Diamond might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Perez misses with a head shot. Diamond uses the momentum to regain guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diamond knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground.

Perez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diamond can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Diamond is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Perez's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Diamond avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Perez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Diamond tries to avoid it but Perez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Diamond to the ground. Diamond escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

King Diamond has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pascual Perez.

Diamond looks to land a combination. Perez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Diamond.
Perez takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Perez is still on wobbly legs! Can Diamond finish him?
Diamond keeps the fight on the outside.
Diamond cracks Perez with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Perez tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Diamond pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Perez is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). King Diamond!
During a confident post fight interview, King Diamond thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
