PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scar Ambe (ranked 1651 p4p, 203 weight class) and James Smith (ranked 2182 p4p, 246 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ambe might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gunna - The World is Yours. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ambe gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Smith goes for a takedown attempt but Ambe pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Smith ducks right into an uppercut from Ambe.
Ambe bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Smith's head backwards.

Ambe closes the distance and pushes Smith back into the cage.
Ambe misses with a short punch on the inside.
Ambe throws a head punch that misses.
Smith looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Smith drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A nice right hand lands inside from Ambe.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ambe has hold of one of Smith's legs. Smith is fighting the takedown attempt but Ambe gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Smith is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Smith is looking to take a break and control but Ambe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ambe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Smith pulls his head out easily.

Ambe has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Ambe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smith lands a nice short elbow.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ambe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ambe is trying to control but can't.
Smith is trying to control the action in half guard but Ambe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
