Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lauro Turturro (ranked 1337 p4p, 204 weight class) and Peter Woodcock (ranked 1495 p4p, 222 weight class). Peter Woodcock will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peter Woodcock!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Lauro Turturro has been cut.
Woodcock fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Turturro walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woodcock throws a lazy right hand but Turturro sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Turturro counters with a nice double leg into side control. Woodcock won't be happy with that.
Woodcock is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turturro working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Turturro remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Woodcock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Turturro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Turturro is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Turturro!
