PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobbie Carroll (ranked 24933 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ghost Dog (ranked 5132 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobbie Carroll is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobbie Carroll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ghost Dog!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog misses with the combination.
Dog shoots in for a takedown but Carroll shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Carroll stuffs the takedown.

Dog clinches with his opponent.
Carroll is trying to drag Dog to the mat but Dog just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Carroll breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Carroll throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dog tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Carroll is in Dog's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dog has his hands on Carroll's head, controlling the position.
Carroll will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Carroll is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Dog isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Carroll stacks Dog on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Carroll!
Dog is letting Carroll control him for a moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dog tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Dog trying to remain calm as Carroll controls from the top position.

Carroll decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dog to his feet.
Carroll lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Carroll throws a body punch but Dog moves out of range.

Dog moves into the clinch successfully.
Come on Dog - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Dog tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carroll smiles and moves away.
Bobbie Carroll has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ghost Dog.

and Carroll counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Carroll.

Carroll gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Dog regains guard.

Carroll stands up and waves to Dog to follow him.

Dog closes the distance and clinches.
Carroll fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Dog jumps guard but Carroll stands there with Dog around his waist. Dog gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Carroll manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Carroll really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Carroll kicks Dog off and gets to his feet.

Carroll works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Dog has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Carroll has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carroll goes for a takedown attempt but Dog pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Dog shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Carroll counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ghost Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dog throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Dog looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carroll is fending him off so far but Dog persists. Nope, Carroll circles away and we're back to standing.
Carroll slaps away a takedown attempt from Dog, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dog is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carroll sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Carroll gets a double leg takedown into Dog's guard.
Carroll slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Dog throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Carroll stands up over Dog, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dog is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Carroll can't fight it off and eventually Dog manages to take the fight to the floor. Carroll looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dog is defended easily by Carroll.
Bobbie Carroll has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ghost Dog.

Carroll drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Carroll scores with a couple of short elbows.
Dog is trying to escape the position but Carroll is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Carroll throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Carroll lands a decent elbow from side control.
Dog tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Carroll wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Dog is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Carroll is controlling him well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Carroll tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Carroll is staying tight to Dog's torso, preventing him from escaping.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Carroll shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dog's guard.

Dog scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Dog keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Carroll gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dog won't allow Carroll to get back to his feet.
Dog throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carroll works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dog trying to control the position from guard on top but Carroll is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bobbie Carroll overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Carroll wants to get back to his feet but Dog is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Dog takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Carroll wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Dog manages to pass to side control.
Carroll is trying to stand up here but Dog is controlling him well.
Dog is trying to control the action in half guard but Carroll is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dog enables Carroll to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dog manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Dog working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carroll doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carroll manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Carroll's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Dog manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carroll manages to get himself to full guard.

Dog wants to control from the top but Carroll keeps moving.
Carroll lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Carroll is working Dog over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ghost Dog has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bobbie Carroll is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Carroll is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dog can do to turn this around?
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I would just about give that final round to Ghost Dog.
I think Carroll has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
