Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aki Hiko (ranked 2035 p4p, 248 weight class) and Slim Sylvia (ranked 1406 p4p, 185 weight class). Sylvia has chosen Some Country Shit as his entrance music. Aki Hiko has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Slim Sylvia!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Hiko.
Hiko missing with a left hand there. Sylvia was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A combination from Hiko does no damage.
Sylvia on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Sylvia jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hiko waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sylvia.
Hiko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sylvia manages to avoid it.
Sylvia is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Hiko scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sylvia doesn't seem bothered though.

Hiko shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hiko showed some decent athleticism there.

Sylvia's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hiko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sylvia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hiko slips a nice elbow through Sylvia's hands, connecting with Sylvia's forehead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hiko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sylvia keeps working.
Hiko uses his free foot to push down on Sylvia's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sylvia.
Sylvia is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position.
Sylvia told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Hiko throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

It looks like Slim Sylvia has been cut.
Hiko breaks from Sylvia's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hiko scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Sylvia is rocked!

That has opened up Slim Sylvia's cut even more.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sylvia tries to reverse the position but Hiko maintains control.
Hiko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hiko unloads with some shots from mount but Sylvia bucks and avoids them well.

The cut above Slim Sylvia's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Hiko is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Sylvia goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Hiko!
