Nikil Jr comes to the cage accompanied by Dark Horse - Andrew Baena. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shorton lands with a good body shot.
Nikil Jr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shorton.
Shorton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shorton tests Nikil Jr's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Shorton swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nikil Jr tries to counter with a takedown but Shorton is quick to defend against it.
Shorton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Shorton gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nikil Jr is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shorton gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Shorton goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Nikil Jr tries to score a body lock takedown but Shorton shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Nikil Jr has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Shorton after a bit of a struggle.

Shorton digs a right hand into Nikil Jr's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Nikil Jr's gas tank.

Nikil Jr has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Shorton regains guard immediately.
Nikil Jr is breathing heavily.
Shorton wants to get back to his feet but Nikil Jr is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Shorton has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Nikil Jr has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Oh Nikil Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shorton closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Nikil Jr out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

A very excited looking Bill Shorton rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Kenrick Nikil Jr was interviewed post fight and said 'I will return. I will overcome this loss. A true warrior learns from his failures as much as from his successes.'.
