The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro throws a sloppy body shot
enabling Blackbeard to counter with a crisp jab.
Blackbeard scores with a jab to the body.
Blackbeard bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A quick step to the side and Blackbeard tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ribeiro misses with an uppercut
and Blackbeard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ribeiro avoids the body shot from Blackbeard.
Ribeiro has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Blackbeard darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Blackbeard connects with a body shot that sends Ribeiro's belly button to the back.
Blackbeard is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Ribeiro takes one on the button.
Blackbeard bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ribeiro's head backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blackbeard lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ribeiro at a distance.
Blackbeard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Blackbeard digs a good hook to Ribeiro's body.
Ribeiro throws a jab but it's blocked by Blackbeard.
Ribeiro ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blackbeard moves away.
Ribeiro closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blackbeard circles away.
Ribeiro throws a predictable looking body shot

and Blackbeard counters with a crisp right hand that drops Ribeiro! Blackbeard lets Ribeiro back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Ribeiro is rocked!

It looks like Marcus Ribeiro has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blackbeard cracks Ribeiro on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Ribeiro falls backwards against the cage. Blackbeard follows up with more strikes that drop Ribeiro to his knees. Blackbeard keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Ribeiro! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Duke Blackbeard!
