Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Lyttle (ranked 3985 p4p, 325 weight class) and Hans Richter (ranked 3988 p4p, 326 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lyttle has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Richter.
Richter misses with a hook.

Richter drives through and clinches with Lyttle against the cage.

Richter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lyttle lands a nice looking body shot.
Lyttle looks to land a left hand but Richter moved out of range nicely.
Lyttle uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Richter has time to react.
Hans Richter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Richter connects with a body shot that sends Lyttle's belly button to the back.

Richter drives through and clinches with Lyttle against the cage.

Richter takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lyttle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lyttle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Richter was well out of range. Poor timing from Lyttle.
Richter moves into range and connects with a jab.

Lyttle paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Richter tries to clinch but Lyttle is having none of it.

Lyttle walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Richter checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Lyttle shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Richter eats them both and turns towards Lyttle to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Richter bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Lyttle's head.

Lyttle takes a swing at Richter's ribcage but misses.
Lyttle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Richter circles away quickly and effectively.
As Lyttle backs off Richter throws a huge counter combo but Lyttle manages to avoid it all.
Lyttle takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've been informed that Richter has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Lyttle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Richter was well out of range. Poor timing from Lyttle.

It seemed like Richter was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Richter doesn't manage to clinch there - Lyttle circles away.

Lyttle pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Richter lunges at Lyttle with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lyttle's hand.

Richter lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Richter feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lyttles jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Oh Lyttle is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Richter tries to clinch up but Lyttle circles away and keeps his distance.
Lyttle lands a nice hook to Richter's body. Richter takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Lyttle looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Richter throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Lyttle's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Richter dives in looking to finish as Lyttle flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Richter's strikes! Richter is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Lyttle's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Lyttle was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
