The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burks gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows James to score an easy takedown into full guard.
James passes easily into side control. Nice work.
James is trying to move to mount but Burks reverses beautifully and ends up in James's guard.
Burks would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Burks working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Burks lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Burks got a little sloppy there for a moment and James has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Burks has managed to get both his arms back between James's legs - danger averted.
James bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burks's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James pushing down on Burks's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Burks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for James on the ground.
James uses his free foot to push down on Burks's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Burks.
James is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by James!
