Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sub Machine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bat Drew !
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drew lunges at Machine with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Machine's hand.
Drew drives through and clinches with Machine against the cage.
Drew keeps control of Machine as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Drew pulls guard.
Machine is stalling in the full guard.
Drew looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Machine trying to control the position from guard on top but Drew is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Machine throwing strikes from guard but Drew blocks nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machine stopping the sweep attempt from Drew .
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Drew holds on and takes a little breather.
Machine slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Machine has an Americana. Drew didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Machine is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Machine hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Sub Machine!
