Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brownie Anderson (ranked 716 p4p, 87 weight class) and Bornas Lopette (ranked 2902 p4p, 317 weight class). Anderson comes to the cage accompanied by !!!. Lopette is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Root Of All Evil. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Brownie Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 31 - 3, fighting out of New York, Bornas Lopette!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopette throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Anderson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Anderson. That's going to slow Lopette down.
Anderson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Lopette throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
An inside leg kick lands from Anderson.
Anderson throws a right hand that Lopette ducks under and follows up with a left that Lopette also avoids with ease.
Lopette scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Lopette throws a push kick but Anderson slaps the foot to one side.
Lopette slaps away a takedown attempt from Anderson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Anderson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Anderson throws a right hand that Lopette ducks under and follows up with a left that Lopette also avoids with ease.

Anderson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Anderson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Anderson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lopette is out of range and Anderson settles back down.

Anderson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lopette is not content to let Anderson control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lopette seems a little lost for a moment, as Anderson dominates the positioning.

Anderson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anderson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Anderson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lopette has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Anderson but great work by Lopette.

Anderson pushes Lopette away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lopette gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Anderson wants to control but Lopette postures up.
Anderson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Anderson tries to control but Lopette manages to take his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Anderson is trying to get back to his feet but Lopette has full control of the position and if anything, Anderson has just worked his way into a worse spot.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Anderson lands with a hook. Lopette tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Bornas Lopette seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lopette swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anderson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lopette, right into the meat.

Bornas Lopette is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lopette avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lopette throws a leg kick but Anderson moved away.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Anderson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lopette - the referee stops the clock and Anderson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lopette. Anderson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brownie Anderson will probably get the nod.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Anderson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

A jab lands there for Anderson.
Anderson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Lopette chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Anderson can pounce on him.

Bornas Lopette has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Anderson drops back looking for a leg! Lopette is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lopette manages to kick Anderson off! Anderson jumps back into Lopette's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lopette throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Anderson is looking to counter punch.
Lopette misses with a straight right.
Lopette fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Anderson checks it well.
Anderson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lopette if he has to take too many more of those.
Anderson connects with a leg kick. Lopette looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Anderson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Anderson.

Brownie Anderson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Anderson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
