Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Celininho Franco (ranked 21285 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yormomza Khan (ranked 3829 p4p, 0 weight class). Yormomza Khan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Celininho Franco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yormomza Khan!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco with a poor takedown
and Khan counters with a right hand to the body.
Khan jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Franco shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Khan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nice body punch from Khan.
Franco takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Khan throws a shot to the body.
Franco misses with a takedown attempt - Khan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Celininho Franco. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A shot to the liver by Khan. Beautiful body shot.
Khan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Celininho Franco has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Khan lands a nice shot to the body.
Yormomza Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yormomza Khan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Franco is breathing heavily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Khan enables Franco to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Khan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Khan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Franco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Franco throwing strikes but missing.
Khan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Khan wants to stand up but Franco is controlling him.
Franco engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Franco lands a couple of elbows.

Franco missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Franco connects with a couple of short punches.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Franco accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Franco slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Khan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Franco drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Franco jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Franco throws a big elbow that misses.
Franco working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Franco slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Franco throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Khan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Franco takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Franco shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Khan counters with a nice uppercut.
Franco takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Franco walks into a straight right hand from Khan.
Khan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Franco was well out of range. Poor timing from Khan.
Franco keeps the fight on the outside.
Khan stuns Franco with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Khan throws a shot to the body.

Franco shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Khan's guard.

Franco with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Franco's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Franco's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Khan is working an open guard so Franco takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Khan fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Franco looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Khan is fending him off so far but Franco persists. Nope, Khan circles away and we're back to standing.
We've been told by Franco's head coaches at Big Price MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Khan stuns Franco with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Khan has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Franco is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Nice body punch from Khan.
Khan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Franco takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Khan scores with a jab to the jaw.
Khan scores with a body shot.
Khan drops Franco with a huge uppercut! Franco drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Khan is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yormomza Khan!
Yormomza Khan got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
