Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Vincent (ranked 5662 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alshon Colvin (ranked 6908 p4p, 0 weight class). Colvin has chosen Fantasic Voyage as his entrance music. Alshon Colvin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Vincent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alshon Colvin!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vincent is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Alshon Colvin has been cut.
Alshon Colvin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vincent fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Colvin sprawls well initially but Vincent persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Colvin tries to kick Vincent off but Vincent keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Colvin felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Vincent is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Vincent tries to counter by clinching up but Colvin breaks away and moves out of range.
Vincent takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nice takedown defense from Vincent. No joy for Colvin on that attempt.

Vincent has taken the fight to the clinch.

Vincent has clasped his hands together around Colvin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Vincent is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Colvin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vincent changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Colvin fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Colvin fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Vincent is out of range.

and Vincent holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Vincent on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Vincent shoots in looking for a takedown. Colvin tries to sprawl out of it but Vincent keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Colvin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Colvin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vincent sprawls well. Vincent wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Colvin gets slowly back to his feet.

Colvin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vincent connects with a nice short shot to Colvin's temple.

Vincent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Colvin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Colvin wants to stand and escape but Vincent is having none of it.
Colvin pulls Vincent in close to his closed guard and prevents Vincent from doing any damage or advancing position.
Vincent is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Vincent turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Vincent manages to end up in side control.

Colvin covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Colvin is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Vincent gets his way!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Colvin is trying to get back to his feet but Vincent has full control of the position and if anything, Colvin has just worked his way into a worse spot.
I would not like to be Colvin right now.

Colvin is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Vincent off. It looks like it's working - Vincent slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Colvin displaying calm under pressure there.

Vincent's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vincent, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
