The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riverson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Riverson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hughes tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Riverson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hughes is trying to escape and Riverson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hughes is forced to tap! Nice work there by Riverson! Very nice indeed!
