Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelayo moves in looking to clinch but Alvarez pushes him off.
Pelayo lands with an uppercut that bounces Alvarez off the cage and back into range.
Alvarez misses with a head kick.
Pelayo has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Temp Spar Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Alvarez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Alvarez lands a nice looking kick to the body. Pelayo takes a step back to recover.

Pelayo moves into the clinch successfully.

Alvarez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A jab from Alvarez finds it's way through Pelayo's defenses.
Pelayo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Alvarez finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pelayo throws the left hand but Alvarez avoids the punch easily.
Pelayo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Alvarez swats away the attempt to clinch by Pelayo.

Pelayo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pelayo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Don Pelayo has been cut.
Alvarez looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Alvarez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Alvarez tried to score with a low kick but Pelayo checks it.
Pelayo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alvarez.
Alvarez throws a head kick but Pelayo moves out of range.
Alvarez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Alvarez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Pelayo gets a clinch.
Pelayo prevents the takedown attempt.
Pelayo misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Alvarez manages to break the clinch.

Alvarez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Pelayo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Pelayo creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Alvarez's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Alvarez drops to his knees and Pelayo pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
