The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws an off balance right hand

and Austin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Johnson is looking for a sweep. Austin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Austin lands strikes from half guard.
Johnson is trying to control but can't.

Austin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Austin seems to be looking for submissions.

Austin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Austin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.
Johnson regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Austin.

Johnson lands a big head kick that sends Austin tumbling to the mat! Johnson takes a step backwards and waves Austin back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Gaylord Austin has been cut.

Johnson dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Austin has had enough and taps out.
