Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jordan Jones Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yowis Ben!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones Jr gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ben to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Jones Jr wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ben manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ben connects with a nice short shot to Jones Jr's temple.
Jones Jr on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones Jr tries to get out of the position.
Ben controlling the action here.
Jones Jr wants to get back to his feet.
Ben seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Ben drops an elbow to the side of Jones Jr's head.
Ben passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jones Jr!
Ben landing punches.
Jones Jr is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Jones Jr tries to buck Ben off so he can stand up but Ben has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Jones Jr falls backwards, slamming Ben to the mat but Ben holds on tight! Jones Jr is forced to tap and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Yowis Ben!
