Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Monteiro (ranked 826 p4p, 118 weight class) and Macho Randy (ranked 1235 p4p, 165 weight class). Tony Monteiro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Monteiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Macho Randy!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randy lands a head kick!
Randy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Monteiro walks into a straight right hand from Randy.
Randy lands a jab to the nose.
Randy misses with a series of wild punches.
Monteiro misses the jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Randy.
Randy changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Randy throws a good cross that connects.
Randy connects with a looping right hand.
Randy throws a body shot but no joy.
Randy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Randy misses with a wild body shot.

Monteiro gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Randy.
Randy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Randy is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Monteiro uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Randy.
Monteiro misses with a jab, cross combination.
Randy connects with a nice looking jab.
Monteiro blocks a head kick by Randy.
Monteiro throws a jab but it's blocked by Randy.
Randy looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
A jab from Monteiro does it's job there.
Monteiro loads up on a big right hand but Randy slips the punch.
Randy has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Randy misses with a left hand
and Monteiro counters with a thumping low kick.
Monteiro throws a wild body kick that Randy sees coming a mile off.

Randy connects with the punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Randy throws a low kick but it's checked well by Monteiro.
Monteiro moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Randy moves out of range of the strikes.
A bone on bone clash there as Monteiro blocks the leg kick.
Crunch! Randy slams his shin into Monteiro's torso.
Randy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Randy closes the distance but Monteiro moves to the side

and Monteiro lands a stunning uppercut that sends Randy to the mat!

Randy is rocked!

It looks like Macho Randy has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Monteiro controlling the action here.
Randy wants to control but Monteiro is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Still in half guard, Monteiro seems content to control.

Monteiro tries to stand and escape but Randy is controlling the position.
Randy tries to roll over but Monteiro keeps him under control.
Monteiro controlling the pace.

Monteiro stands up from half guard.
Monteiro scores with a nice right hand.
Randy blocks a jab.
Monteiro looks to throw the jab but Randy is out of range.

Randy moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Randy lands a nice looking kick to the body. Monteiro takes a step back to recover.
Monteiro misses with a hook. Randy ducked under it nicely.
Randy lands a head shot.
Monteiro uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Randy.
Monteiro jabs Randy to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Randy misses with an uppercut

and Monteiro lands a stunning uppercut that sends Randy to the mat!
Randy is still in real trouble! Can Monteiro finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Monteiro seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Randy seems to have recovered his senses.
Monteiro is pressing down on Randy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Randy is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tony Monteiro will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Macho Randy's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Monteiro takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Randy scores with a body shot.
Monteiro takes a jab right on the kisser.
Randy tries to land a front kick but Monteiro steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Monteiro swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Randy misses with a body shot.
Randy looks to score with a jab to the body but Monteiro is just out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Monteiro on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Randy throws a leg kick but Monteiro sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Monteiro looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Macho Randy seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Monteiro is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Randy moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Macho Randy!
In his post fight interview, Macho Randy started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
