Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tanner Jensen (ranked 24505 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Speights (ranked 25008 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tanner Jensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Speights!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speights shoots in for a double leg but Jensen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jensen tries to counter by clinching up but Speights breaks away and moves out of range.

Speights scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Jensen can't do much from the bottom here.
Jensen is looking to regain half guard here but Speights keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jensen wants to control but Speights postures up.
Jensen is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
You can see the frustration on Jensen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Speights tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Jensen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Speights wants to control but Jensen is keeping him busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Speights wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jensen, who protects the arm well.
Jensen is looking for a sweep.
Jensen is not content to let Speights control the position.
Jensen tries to improve position but can't.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jensen throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Jensen is trying to control Speights's posture but Speights avoids it.

Speights is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jensen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Speights shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jensen as he avoids it easily.

Speights decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jensen pushes Speights off but Speights dives into side control.
Jensen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Speights avoids the strikes from the bottom by Jensen.

Speights cracks Jensen with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Speights stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Speights has a takedown stuffed.
It looked like Jensen was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Tanner Jensen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Speights.

Jay Speights seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jensen throws a body kick that misses.
And Speights tries to counter it with a takedown but Jensen pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Jensen stuffs the takedown attempt from Speights. Speights gets slowly back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Speights avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Jensen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Speights changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jensen tries to avoid it but Speights manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jensen to the ground. Jensen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jensen is looking for a counter combo.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jensen.
Speights has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Speights fails to land the takedown.
Speights avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Speights fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jensen avoids it really well and circles away.
Jensen is looking to counter the offense by Speights and move into the clinch.

Speights wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jensen keeps working.

Jensen is trying to improve his position.

Speights is trying to stick to Jensen's back but Jensen is turning into Speights. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Speights's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jensen.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tanner Jensen will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Nice uppercut lands for Jensen. That snapped Speights's head back.

Jensen pushes Speights off and gets back to his feet.

Jensen has closed the distance and engaged Speights in a clinch.

Jensen can't break the clinch.
Jensen is trying to push Speights away but Speights has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Jensen is looking to break free of the clinch but Speights has double underhooks.
Speights jumps guard but Jensen stands there with Speights around his waist. Speights gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Speights changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jensen fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Jensen drives through and clinches with Speights against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A frustrated look appears on Jensen's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Jensen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Speights has him pressed against the cage.
Jensen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tanner Jensen showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jensen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
