Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikel Miles (ranked 5118 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Ferreira (ranked 5338 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miles drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ferreira manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Miles jumps into guard, dragging Ferreira to the mat.
Ferreira wants to control from the top but Miles keeps moving.

Miles pulls Ferreira in close to prevent any damage.

Miles tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ferreira wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Miles takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ferreira seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ferreira wants to free his trapped foot but Miles is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Miles is looking for a sweep. Ferreira is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ferreira is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Ferreira thows a huge punch but Miles dodges it nicely.
Miles is trying to control but Ferreira passes into side control!
Ferreira misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

You can see the frustration on Miles's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Miles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Miles has his hands clasped together around Ferreira's back. He's all about the action.
Miles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Ferreira drops an elbow to the side of Miles's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ferreira is looking to take a break and control but Miles is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Miles makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Miles.
Miles is breathing heavily.

Ferreira tries to free his leg and advance position but Miles is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Miles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ferreira paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Miles closes the distance and pushes Ferreira back into the cage.

Miles gets control of Ferreira's arms and successfully pulls guard. Miles will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ferreira drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ferreira jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ferreira postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Miles covers up, he's hurt! Ferreira keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Ferreira and the ref steps in to end the fight! Ferreira can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
