Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Danial Dennis (ranked 24942 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Riley (ranked 6073 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danial Dennis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Riley!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riley clinches.

Riley is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dennis can't fight it off and eventually Riley manages to take the fight to the floor. Dennis looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dennis scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Riley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dennis on his heels. He'll look to pass Dennis's guard now, I'm sure.
Dennis throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dennis is trying to keep Riley in close.
Riley with a flurry of punches that miss.
Riley wanted to stand there but Dennis had control of the position.

Riley won't allow Dennis to get back to his feet.
Riley wants to control from the top but Dennis keeps moving.
Riley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Riley is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Dennis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Riley manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Dennis keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Dennis tries to circle away but Riley has him pinned against the cage.

Dennis is looking to improve his position.
Dennis is concentrating on defense, preventing Riley from advancing position.
Riley thows a huge punch but Dennis dodges it nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Riley seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Riley lands a nice short elbow.
Dennis is trying to control but can't.
Riley working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Riley is keen to just control but Dennis is a slippery customer.

Dennis pushes Riley off but Riley dives into side control.
Check out the look on Riley's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Dennis is trying to control Riley's posture but Riley avoids it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Riley throws a leg kick which misses Dennis's front leg but catches the back leg as Dennis tries to avoid it.

Dennis closes the distance and clinches.

Dennis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Riley clinches with his opponent.

Riley gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Riley prevents Dennis from getting back to his feet.

Riley stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Riley throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Riley shoots in and gets a takedown into Dennis's guard.
Dennis throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Riley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Riley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dennis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Riley stands and steps away. Dennis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Riley looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Riley is breathing heavily.
Riley is trying to control the action in half guard but Dennis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Riley decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Dennis forces Riley back against the cage and clinches.
Riley tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dennis's elbow.
Dennis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Riley smiles and moves away.

Dennis gets a takedown into half guard.

Riley has one foot on Dennis's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Riley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dennis's guard.

Dennis wriggles free and stands up.

Riley throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dennis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Riley is in Dennis's guard.

Dennis has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Riley has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Dennis is trying to break the clinch but Riley has him pressed against the cage.

Riley has clasped his hands together around Dennis's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Jean Riley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dennis is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Riley's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Riley! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Dennis has tapped! This one is allllll over!
