Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Yelats!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vacant Championship!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yelats moves into the clinch.

Championship is trying to stand.
Championship blocking the ground and pound attempt from Yelats.

Yelats stands up and beckons Championship to join him on the feet.
Championship keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Yelats misses with a double jab.
Championship fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yelats manages to avoid it.
Yelats moves to clinch but Championship breaks away
and Championship counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like King Yelats has been cut.

A frustrated look appears on Championship's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Championship has had enough of the clinch but Yelats keeps him there for the moment.

Yelats has clasped his hands together around Championship's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Yelats looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Championship regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Yelats.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yelats stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Championship swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Yelats postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Yelats has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Yelats lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Championship is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Yelats defends well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Championship preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Yelats prevents Championship from getting back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

King Yelats's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Yelats dives in for a single leg takedown but Championship sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

I think Championship has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
