Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mac Garcia (ranked 5167 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Mayhem (ranked 6548 p4p, 0 weight class). Mayhem has chosen Eminem ft Rhianna- Monster as his entrance music. Jason Mayhem is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayhem fails to land with a series of punches.
Garcia tries to counter with a takedown but Mayhem is quick to defend against it.
Mayhem looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Garcia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mayhem looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Garcia could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Garcia content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Garcia tries to advance to mount but Mayhem denies him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A lull in the action here as Garcia stalls from top position.

Garcia seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mayhem for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mayhem throws a nice looking combination but Garcia bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Garcia bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Garcia decides to stand back up.

Garcia closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mayhem's guard.

Garcia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mayhem is fending him off so far but Garcia persists. Nope, Mayhem circles away and we're back to standing.
Mayhem lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Mayhem closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Mayhem's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Mayhem is trying to maintain the position but Garcia is very close to passing his half guard.
Garcia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Garcia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Garcia shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mayhem defends it nicely.
Mayhem follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mac Garcia. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mayhem sneaks out the side door and pushes Garcia away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Mac Garcia is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mac Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mayhem enables Garcia to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mayhem manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mayhem can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Garcia controls the pace.

Mac Garcia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Garcia decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Garcia fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Garcia feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mayhem stuffs the takedown attempt from Garcia. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet.
Garcia darts in looking for a takedown but Mayhem gets double underhooks and turns Garcia into the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mayhem wants to stand up but Garcia is controlling him.
Garcia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Garcia works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Garcia is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Garcia passes into side control, despite Mayhem's attempt to control the position.
Mayhem seems a little lost for a moment, as Garcia dominates the positioning.
Garcia is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mayhem can do to turn this around?

Garcia is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Mayhem looks calm but he's in trouble here. Garcia gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Mayhem is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Garcia lets go of the hold and Mayhem can pop his arm back in it's socket.
