Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aki Hiko (ranked 1147 p4p, 152 weight class) and Bomb Bombs (ranked 338 p4p, 52 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aki Hiko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 28 - 0, fighting out of London, Bomb Bombs!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bombs slips a jab from Hiko.
Bombs has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hiko clobbers Bombs with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hiko misses with a wild body shot.
Hiko takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Aki Hiko has been cut.

Hiko tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bombs was well out of range. Poor timing from Hiko.

As Hiko backs off Bombs throws a huge counter combo but Hiko manages to avoid it all.

Hiko shoots in looking for a takedown but Bombs manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hiko's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've been hearing reports that Hiko has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

and Hiko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bombs's guard.

Bombs is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Hiko presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hiko throws a right hand that Bombs ducks under and follows up with a left that Bombs also avoids with ease.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hiko's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bombs connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hiko scrambles back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hiko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hiko is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Bombs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hiko manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hiko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aki Hiko.
Well Hiko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
