Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Angelo Mendez (ranked 465 p4p, 66 weight class) and Archibald Knox (ranked 145 p4p, 20 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mendez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Angelito. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Knox's corner calls for a 1-2. Knox obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Archibald Knox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from Mendez misses its intended target.
Knox throws a head kick that misses.
Mendez is looking for a counter combo.
Knox scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mendez doesn't seem bothered though.
Knox lands with a nice body punch.
Mendez lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Archibald Knox has been cut.

Oooooh!!! Mendez has knocked Knox down with a huge combo! Mendez steps away and waves a wobbly Knox back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Mendez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Knox lands a big head kick that sends Mendez tumbling to the mat! Knox takes a step backwards and waves Mendez back to his feet - he wants the finish!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
