Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scotty Vaughn (ranked 5844 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Gardener (ranked 6649 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Topper Green and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardener doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Vaughn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nice takedown defense from Vaughn. No joy for Gardener on that attempt.
Gardener throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vaughn.
Vaughn feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Vaughn looks for a takedown but Gardener sprawls well.
Gardener rushes Vaughn and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gardener is pressed up against the cage. Vaughn has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gardener down to the mat. Gardener avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Vaughn could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gardener misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Gardener lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Scotty Vaughn has been cut.
Vaughn has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gardener finds it's way round the side to connect with Vaughn's head.
Vaughn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gardener did well to prevent Vaughn getting side control.
Gardener is trying to maintain the position but Vaughn is very close to passing his half guard.
Vaughn slips a nice elbow through Gardener's hands, connecting with Gardener's forehead.
Gardener is trying to get back to full guard.
Gardener is trying to stand up here but Vaughn is controlling him well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vaughn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gardener's head.

Horrible takedown attempt by Gardener or perhaps it was just good defense by Vaughn, which made it look bad.

and Vaughn counters with a low kick, right behind Gardener 's knee.
Vaughn is looking to clinch.
Gardener swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Gardener manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vaughn on his heels. He'll look to pass Vaughn's guard now, I'm sure.

Vaughn throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gardener uses it to pass to side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gardener moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Vaughn has worked his arm free - good work by Vaughn!
Vaughn is looking for a sweep.

Gardener in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Gardener is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vaughn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gardener really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vaughn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vaughn struggling a bit here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Gardener sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Vaughn is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Vaughn is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gardener's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Vaughn gets full guard.
Vaughn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gardener can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Vaughn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gardener gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Franklin Gardener showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Vaughn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gardener as he jumps to the side.
Vaughn throws a right and a left that Gardener avoids nicely.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Gardener. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Vaughn is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Gardener is keeping busy.

Vaughn fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Vaughn wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Vaughn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gardener avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gardener jumps guard and drags Vaughn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Gardener has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gardener clinches up with Vaughn and pushes him back against the cage.
Gardener managing to block the knees to the body from Vaughn.
Vaughn will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gardener up against the cage.

Maybe Vaughn would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.

Gardener has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vaughn is working away from the top position though.

Franklin Gardener comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gardener has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
