The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chie rushes Nomurokai and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Nomurokai tries to pull guard but Chie won't allow it.

Chie jumps guard.
Chie is pulling down on Nomurokai's head to control his posture.

Chie's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Chie throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Nomurokai might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Chie haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Nomurokai jumps guard but Chie stands there with Nomurokai around his waist. Nomurokai gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Chie pulls guard effortlessly.
Nomurokai wants to stand but Chie is controlling his posture from full guard.
Chie seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Nomurokai not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Crunch! Chie slams his shin into Nomurokai's torso.
Nomurokai shoots for a double leg takedown but Chie sprawls well. He's pushed Nomurokai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nomurokai enables Chie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nomurokai manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Nomurokai tries to pull guard but Chie holds him up against the cage and eventually Nomurokai drops back down to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nomurokai has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Chie avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

It looks like Simija Nomurokai has been cut.
Nomurokai wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Nomurokai is trying to maintain a safe position but Chie gets an underhook and turns Nomurokai into the cage.

Chie drops Nomurokai with a big knee straight up the middle! Nomurokai is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Nomurokai has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nomurokai there as he acknowledges the shot.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chie moves into range and clinches up with Nomurokai.
Chie pushes Nomurokai back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Chie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nomurokai seems to have recovered his senses.

Chie manages to break the clinch.

Oooooh!!! Chie has knocked Nomurokai down with a huge combo! Chie steps away and waves a wobbly Nomurokai back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Chie has closed the distance and engaged Nomurokai in a clinch.
Chie has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Nomurokai after a bit of a struggle.

Nomurokai ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nomurokai no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Nomurokai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
