Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Atif Muhammad!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Hunt misses.
Muhammad dives in and grabs Hunt's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hunt pushes down on Muhammad's head and hops out.
Muhammad misses with a combination
and Hunt connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Atif Muhammad has been cut.
Hunt scores with a jab. Muhammad acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
A shot to the liver by Hunt. Beautiful body shot.
Hunt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Muhammad circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice straight punches there by Hunt. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hunt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Muhammad doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hunt counters with a stiff right hand.
Hunt smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
A head kick by Muhammad misses
and Hunt counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Muhammad tries to clinch but fails miserably
enabling Hunt to counter with a crisp jab.


That has opened up Atif Muhammad's cut even more.
Muhammad looks to clinch
and Hunt counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hunt drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Muhammad keeps working.
Hunt in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Hunt throwing shots but missing, from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Muhammad trying to remain calm as Hunt controls from the top position.
The ground and pound from Hunt seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunt looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Muhammad is avoiding damage well.
An elbow from Hunt crashes against the mat.
Hunt working the ground and pound but Muhammad is defending the strikes.
Hunt avoids the strikes from the bottom by Muhammad.
Hunt creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Muhammad sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Muhammad is letting Hunt control him for a moment.
Hunt tries to score with some ground and pound. Muhammad controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Hunt wants to control but Muhammad is keeping him busy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Muhammad is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Muhammad can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hunt is looking to take a break and control but Muhammad is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hunt is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Muhammad will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Hunt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Muhammad throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Muhammad closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Hunt manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Muhammad keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Muhammad prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Muhammad breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Muhammad's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hunt connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Muhammad scrambles back to his feet.
Muhammad tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Hunt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


The cut above Atif Muhammad's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hunt pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Muhammad back to the cage. Hunt follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Hunt getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


Atif Muhammad's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Atif Muhammad's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mark Hunt!
