PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Smith (ranked 2634 p4p, 300 weight class) and Tino Tropper (ranked 2677 p4p, 306 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tino Tropper!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith dives in for a single leg takedown but Tropper sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Tropper misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming.
Tropper is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smith.
Tropper swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
A slow jab from Tropper misses its intended target.

Tropper throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.
Smith definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Smith tries to bum rush Tropper with a series of wild strikes but Tropper uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith shoots in and drives through. Tropper sprawls well.
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tropper tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tropper to the ground. Tropper escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tropper is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tropper with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tropper can do anything to dispel that myth.

Smith gets to his feet and stands over Tropper, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Tropper felt that one! Smith unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Tropper from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Smith!
