PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Buster StClair (ranked 5916 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronaldo Souza (ranked 24461 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
StClair scores with a one two! Souza had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Souza shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. StClair defends it nicely.
StClair throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
StClair throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Souza jabbing away but nothing is landing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Souza is trying to pull guard but StClair has him pressed against the cage.

Souza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
StClair throws a sloppy head kick and Souza moves out of range easily.
StClair displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Both fighters circling a little - StClair finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

StClair lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by StClair.

StClair feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
StClair postures up.

Souza looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! StClair has picked Souza up and slammed him! Souza can't keep hold of the triangle and StClair manages to pass to side control!
Souza looking for a sweep but StClair has passed into full mount! Oh no!
StClair manages to capitalize on a mistake by Souza to take his back!
StClair lands strikes to the head.
StClair slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Souza is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if StClair gets his way!

StClair seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Souza for as long as he can get away with.

StClair is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
