Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leandro Moreno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Ali!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ali clinches up against the cage.
Moreno is looking for a takedown.

Ali breaks from the clinch.

Moreno gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ali is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ali stands and steps away. Moreno gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ali.

Ali drives through with a takedown into Moreno's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Moreno seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Moreno is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ali is aware though and is defending well.

Ali sitting in guard here, content to control.
Moreno has a closed guard, preventing Ali from standing up.
Moreno trying to keep a closed guard but Ali is proving a slippery customer.

Ali gets to his feet - Moreno follows without any prompting.

Ali darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Moreno manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ali keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Moreno escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Moreno tries to keep at a distance but Ali has taken the fight into the clinch.
Moreno goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ali prevents it.
Moreno effectively controlling the action here.
Moreno can't break the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Moreno's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Ali has picked Moreno up - he's going for a ride! Ali dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Ali wants to pass the guard but Moreno is defending well.
Ali wants to take a breather but Moreno is having none of it.

Ali stays in close to Moreno's body and controls the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ali wants to stand and escape but instead Moreno has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Ali has Moreno pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ali controls Moreno momentarily but Moreno frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Ali dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ali throws a right and a left that both miss.
Moreno is looking for a counter combo.
Leandro Moreno is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ali shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ali was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Ali is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Ali wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moreno keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ali is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Moreno has escaped the position, nice work there.
Moreno is not content to let Ali control the position.

Moreno prevents Ali from moving into mount.
Moreno is looking to reverse the position.

Ali stands up.
Ali misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ali lets loose with a powerful body kick. Moreno will feel that in the morning.

Ali feints and as Moreno raises his hands in defense, Ali changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Moreno can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ali controls the pace.
Ali tries to free his leg and advance position but Moreno is retaining full guard.
Ali controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ali has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ali advances to half guard.
Moreno has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ali is working away from the top position though.

Ali sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Moreno defending well though.
Ali trying to control from Moreno's half guard. Moreno has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Ali passes Moreno's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Moreno wants to control but Ali is keeping busy.

Ali seems to be working for a kimura but Moreno defends the submission attempt.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ali trying to control the action but Moreno is working from the bottom.
Moreno is trying to maintain the position but Ali is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Moreno is looking to clinch.
Ali is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fight stays on the outside here - Moreno looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Ali showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Moreno clinches up against the cage.

Moreno escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ali looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Moreno!

Ali stands up and beckons Moreno to his feet.
No joy there for Moreno, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ali closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Moreno to the mat! Moreno manages to get full guard.

Moreno is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ali is aware though and is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ali is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Moreno is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Moreno has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ali controls Moreno momentarily but Moreno frees himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ali holds on and takes a little breather.
Ali bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moreno's guard.


Moreno is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ali defends well.
Ali stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moreno swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ali is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Ali wants to control from the top but Moreno keeps moving.
Ali controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ali is looking to pass into half guard but Moreno pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Moreno is in guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ali working for a triangle but Moreno defends it easily.
Moreno working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Moreno avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ali preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chris Ali comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ali has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
