PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Grishin (ranked 4772 p4p, 524 weight class) and Coke Montana (ranked 4742 p4p, 521 weight class). Grishin comes to the ring accompanied by Danger. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Viktor Grishin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Coke Montana!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Montana lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Grishin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Grishin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Grishin tries to clinch up.

Grishin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Montana trying to control but Grishin postures up.
Montana controlling the position for now.
Grishin is trying to control the action in half guard but Montana is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Grishin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Montana defends it well.
Grishin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Montana keeps working.

Montana is trying to stand.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Grishin trying to control the action but Montana is working from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Montana is defended easily by Grishin.
Montana throws a head kick that misses.
Montana rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Grishin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Montana throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Montana tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Montana lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Grishin circles away quickly and effectively.

Grishin appears to be looking for a big counter.
Grishin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Montana pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Montana tries a head kick but it misses.
Grishin is looking to clinch.
Montana misses with a series of wild punches.
Montana tries to work over Grishin's front leg with a kick but Grishin checks it.
Grishin throws a big counter combination but Montana scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Montana tries a head kick but it misses.
Coke Montana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Montana gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grishin swats away the attempt to clinch by Montana.
Grishin appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Grishin blocks a head kick by Montana.
Montana misses with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coke Montana dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Montana throws a series of punches but Grishin avoids them all with ease.
Grishin slips a jab and a cross from Montana.
A combination from Montana does no damage.
Montana throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Grishin fails with a takedown attempt.

Grishin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Grishin tries to move to mount but Montana blocks the move with his legs.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Grishin working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Grishin tries for a kimura but Montana is defending well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Montana is not content to let Grishin control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Grishin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Grishin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Grishin lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Viktor Grishin will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Grishin darts in looking for a takedown but Montana gets double underhooks and turns Grishin into the ropes.
Montana closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Montana stuffs the takedown attempt from Grishin. Grishin gets slowly back to his feet.
Montana throws a fast counter high kick but Grishin manages to duck under it in time.

Montana lands a big head kick that sends Grishin tumbling to the mat! Montana takes a step backwards and waves Grishin back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Grishin is rocked!
Montana closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Grishin out cold! Grishin corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Coke Montana!
Coke Montana seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
