The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ambe lands a nice shot that snaps Umali's head back.
Ambe tries to clinch but Umali is having none of it.
Umali misses the shot to the body.
Ambe lands a right hook to the body.
Umali stuffs the takedown.
The fighters circling - Ambe throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ambe throws an overhand right that lands on Umali's shoulder, as Umali tries to avoid the shot.
Umali let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Umali gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ambe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ambe passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Ambe is trying to get an arm triangle but Umali is defending well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Umali is being controlled here.

Umali is not content to let Ambe control the position.

Ambe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Umali, who protects the arm well.
Ambe has hold of Umali's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Umali seems comfortable defending it but Ambe has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Umali is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Umali is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Ambe couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Har Ambe!
