Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luther Jackson (ranked 223 p4p, 30 weight class) and Jormungand Bolverk (ranked 1383 p4p, 186 weight class). Jormungand Bolverk will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolverk stuffs the takedown.
Jackson misses with a takedown
and Bolverk counters with a stiff right hand.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bolverk pinned against the cage. Bolverk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bolverk has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luther Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bolverk as he jumps to the side.

Bolverk now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Jackson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Bolverk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bolverk looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bolverk parries the strikes from Jackson easily there. Jackson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bolverk to escape.

Jackson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bolverk is looking to escape.
Bolverk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jackson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Jackson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bolverk is surviving well by controlling Jackson's body position as best he can.

Jackson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bolverk is now in Jackson's guard. A big mistake from Jackson there, giving up the dominant position!

Jackson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Bolverk rolls with it to try and escape but Jackson cranks on the arm and Bolverk is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
