Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Mccray (ranked 23984 p4p, 0 weight class) and AB Roberts (ranked 5199 p4p, 480 weight class). AB Roberts will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts throws a head kick that misses
and Mccray counters with a left and a right that stings Roberts.

Roberts manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mccray on his heels. He'll look to pass Mccray's guard now, I'm sure.
Roberts looking to sit in guard and control but Mccray gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Roberts is looking for a triangle here but Mccray uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Mccray controls the position.
Roberts tries to improve position but can't.

Mccray decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Mccray changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Roberts tries to avoid it but Mccray manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Roberts to the ground. Roberts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Roberts throws an elbow that misses. Mccray uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Roberts's guard. Nice move by Mccray!

Roberts tries to keep at a distance but Mccray has taken the fight into the clinch.

Mccray has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Roberts uses from the top position.

Mccray pulls Roberts in close to his closed guard and prevents Roberts from doing any damage or advancing position.

Roberts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mccray. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Roberts throws a strike but Mccray rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mccray wants to get up but he can't break Roberts's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mccray stands and steps away. Roberts gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
