Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jakub Balinski (ranked 3751 p4p, 428 weight class) and AB Roberts (ranked 7093 p4p, 598 weight class). AB Roberts told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, AB Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Roberts. No joy for Balinski on that attempt.
Balinski throws a body shot but no joy.
Balinski shoots in for a double leg but Roberts sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Roberts swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Balinski takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Roberts avoids the body shot from Balinski.
Roberts leaves Balinski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

It seemed like Roberts was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

A close round but AB Roberts will probably get the nod.
