Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Savage (ranked 5147 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sun Tanashi (ranked 7711 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roger Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sun Tanashi!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanashi stuffs the takedown.
Tanashi goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Savage.
Savage pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tanashi changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Tanashi gets caught flat footed, as Savage shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Savage trying to control but Tanashi is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Savage is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Savage drops back looking for a leg! Tanashi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tanashi manages to kick Savage off! Savage jumps back into Tanashi's guard.
Tanashi is pulling down on Savage's head to control his posture.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Savage stays in close to Tanashi's body and controls the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Savage throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tanashi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Savage is in Tanashi's guard.

Tanashi has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Savage off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Savage enables Tanashi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Savage manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Savage wants to sweep but no luck.
Savage pulls Tanashi in close to prevent any damage.
Savage keeping moving, preventing Tanashi from controlling successfully.

Savage escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tanashi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Savage is breathing heavily.
Tanashi postures up.
Tanashi trying to control but Savage is working from the bottom.
Tanashi throws a big elbow that misses.
Tanashi scoring with some ground and pound.
Tanashi with a flurry of punches that miss.
Savage could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Savage is trying to keep Tanashi in close.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Tanashi wants to pass the guard but Savage is keeping the position.
Tanashi prevents Savage from getting back to his feet.
Tanashi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Tanashi trying to control but Savage is working from the bottom.
Savage is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tanashi is controlling him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Savage bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Savage shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Tanashi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Savage's guard.

Savage manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sun Tanashi will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Tanashi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Savage quickly recovers to half guard.

Roger Savage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Savage is not content to let Tanashi control the position.

Tanashi wants to pass to mount but Savage is defending the position.

Tanashi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Tanashi is looking to take a break and control but Savage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Tanashi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Savage has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tanashi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Savage wants to control but Tanashi is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Savage has one foot on Tanashi's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sun Tanashi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tanashi is fighting to break Savage's control of his arms but Savage is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well Tanashi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
