The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tederson shoots in and bounces Whitley off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Whitley looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Tederson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Tederson is taking a breather. Whitley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Whitley will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Whitley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tederson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
